Prosecutor plans to seek death penalty in Georgia spa shootings

Prosecutors will seek the death penalty for the man accused of killing eight people in March at Atlanta-area massage parlors, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said Tuesday.

Robert Aaron Long, 22, faces hate crime and murder charges for the March 16 killings of four women of Asian descent at two spas in Atlanta.

Long faces separate charges for the other four killings, which occurred in Cherokee County.

Willis’ move to seek the death penalty is a departure from her campaign last year, when she stated her opposition to capital punishment.
