Rasmus Hojlund's horror stats revealed as £72m Man Utd striker fails to have SINGLE TOUCH in Bayern Munich penalty area | The Sun

RASMUS HOJLUND experienced a Champions League horror show for Manchester United last night as it was revealed he did not have a single touch in the penalty area against Bayern Munich.

After an electric start to life in the Champions League with Man Utd which saw him net five goals in his opening four games, he went on to blank in his final two.

But while there were goals to boot in the penultimate game vs Galatasaray, there was not so much as a sniff against Bayern at Old Trafford.

Indeed, with just one shot going on target from the Red Devils all evening Manuel Neuer would certainly have had harder nights than in the 1-0 win.

And with Bayern's on-ball dominance and Man Utd's inability to sustain attacks, it seemed an impossible task for Hojlund to be at his best.

This was compounded by the £72million star's shocking stat line from the clash.

The 20-year-old did not manage a single shot at goal, completed just nine passes and lost six of the eight duels he competed in.

Some fans went so far as to say he was "bullied" by Bayern centre-backs Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min Jae, the latter of which was linked with a transfer to the club in the summer.

Furthermore, the striker did not have a single touch in the box against Thomas Tuchel's side.

Instead, he was forced to drop deep to try and link play, counter to the Dane's strengths.

Hojlund will now be hoping he can finally break his goal drought in the Premier League after going 12 games without a goal.

Man Utd face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, somewhere they have not won since January 2016.

Even a goal has been hard to come by on the ground, with the last goal Man Utd scored on Liverpool's turf coming in 2018.

And last season's 7-0 drubbing will still be fresh in the mind of the Man Utd squad, and that was a team without a form and injury crisis.

Boss Erik ten Hag looks set to be without Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw for the trip to Liverpool, with both going off injured against the German champions last night.
