Homes Under The Hammer's Dion Dublin admits 'I'm out of a job!' as Toyah Wilcox takes over BBC show | The Sun

HOMES Under The Hammer host Dion Dublin was left fearing he was "out of a job" as Toyah Wilcox joined the show as a guest presenter as part of a slew of celebrity specials.

All this week, the BBC property series is welcoming five different celebrities to guest co-host the show in a series first.

Kicking off proceedings was 80s popstar Toyah Wilcox as she joined Dion on a property hunt.

The pair were taking a look around a three-bed semi-detached home in Birmingham, around 20 minutes from where Toyah grew up.

Toyah, dressed in a chic orange dress, was left bursting at the seams to get in and have a look around the house.

It was clear the singing star knew her stuff as she was quick to asses what worked well with the property and what was in need of a change.

BARGAIN BUY

Homes Under the Hammer's Dion Dublin left open-mouthed by lowest property price

Speaking before she even stepped foot inside, Toyah said: "I think it's a really beautifully presented house, clear that garden and you've got a beautiful place to live."

Impressed at her property presenting know how, ex-footballer Dion quipped:  "I feel like I'm out of a job!"

Once inside, it was clear that the pair were impressed with the house on offer which went up at auction for a guide price of £49,000.

Entering the living room from the porch, Toyah said: "It's spacey, it's light, it's big. I think the porch is fantastic, keep the porch."

Calling the shots, it was not long until Toyah was ordering Dion what he needed to go and do for the cameras.

As she browsed the kitchen and suggested some structural changes, she told her co-host: "I think you should go up the stairs to the bedroom."

Slightly bemused by her authority, he agreed and when Toyah was out of shot, cheekily told the camera: "That's my line, I say that!"

The laughs kept on coming as Toyah begged to take another of Dion's lines as their tour of the home came to and end.

Begging, she said: "Please can I say it? Please, I've always wanted to say it!"

Having got the nod from Dion, she issued up the famous line: "Let's see who was up for the challenge when this home went under the hammer."

Stuart and his business partner Paul were the ones to snap up the house for £172,000 and planned to do £15,000 in renovations to whip it into shape.

Tiyah cast doubt on if the budget was too tight and it turned out she was right after it was revealed the pair have overspent by £2k in order to add all the best additions.

Having called in an estate agent to give the house a final value, they were left impressed with its £220,000 price tag.

It gave the pair a pre-tax profit of £31,000 and left Toyah delighted at what they had managed to achieve.

A series of famous faces will be helping out across the show this week.

The One Show star Alex Jones, BBC weatherman Owain Wyn Evans and The Traitors star Amanda Lovett will be among those giving their opinions during their stints as guest presenters.
